Veterans Day Parade: Fading Barriers 36x48 Oil 2019

A few years ago, I had a piece of artwork selected for ArtFields, after entering on a whim. I think it was the first year for the event. I entered a second time this year and was very happy that my piece was accepted, especially given the growth of the event. Albeit the event was canceled this year, it’s great to know that your work is appreciated. This year’s entry, Veterans Day Parade: Fading Barriers?, is part of a series that looks at the patriotic spirit of African Americans in the south. In lieu of the Black Lives Matter Movement, it is even more interesting how steadfast we are when it comes to our patriotism. Check out the story behind my entry and learn more  about the annual event. You can also find other pieces from the series on my gallery page.
